(LEARFIELD, PACKERS) – The Green Bay Packers will wrap up their mandatory mini-camp Thursday.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur assessed what he has seen so far.
LaFleur was asked, without pads on, what is he looking for from young offensive linemen like Jordan Morgan.
LaFleur also talked about Jordan Monk whose has been getting the snaps at center while Elgton Jenkins isn’t practicing.
Dead money: The release of cornerback Jaire Alexander leaves the Packers with 35 million dollars of dead money on the books.
About half is Alexander’s, and the team is still paying for deals with players like Preston Smith and De’Vondre Campbell.
Eight NFL teams have more than 50 million still on the books.
As it stands now, Green Bay won’t have any dead money for 2026, depending on what happens this year.
Melton’s move: Much was made earlier in the week of wide receiver Bo Melton practicing at cornerback for the Packers.
Melton talked about the reaction from brother Max of the Cardinals when he learned Bo was giving defensive back a try.
Melton was asked how did this defensive back thing come about.
Melton said we’ll see what happens.
Melton was asked if this can work in the NFL.
