(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers were held scoreless on just four hits Sunday, dropping the series finale at home 1-0 to the San Diego Padres.
Padres third baseman Manny Machado’s seventh-inning homer was the only run of the game.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about the loss.
His shot came off of Brewers reliever Rob Zastryzny who had just entered the game in relief of Freddy Peralta who had pitched 6 innings of 1-hit ball.
Peralta talked about the team coming up short.
He said the Padres have a good lineup.
Despite Sunday’s no decision, Peralta said that things have been good for him.
Murphy talked about why he didn’t send Peralta out to the mound for the seventh inning.
San Diego took the weekend series two games to one.
It was a frustrating loss because Milwaukee left 10 runners on base over the last five innings.
Atlanta visits American Family Field starting Monday, with Aaron Civale taking the mound for the Brewers.
