FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A 19-year-old woman from Green Bay was arrested on charges of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Injury, First Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, Fleeing and Eluding an Officer and more after a high-speed chase that led to a crash involving multiple vehicles.
Around 6:30 p.m. Friday a deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office saw a driver going over 80 mph in a 25 mph zone. The deputy turned his lights & siren on but the suspect sped up and did not stop.
The Sheriff’s Office ordered the pursuit to end hoping the suspect would stop once she reached downtown Fond du Lac however she continued speeding and eventually drove into the opposite lane to pass cars. Eventually the driver hit an oncoming SUV, which started on fire, near N. Main St. and Division St. She continued driving after the initial crash and hit seven more vehicles before stopping near Merrill Ave.
The suspect then got out of the vehicle and surrendered as the vehicle started on fire.
Three people in the vehicles that were struck were treated for minor injuries and released from the scene. The suspect was taken to St. Agnes Hospital to be evaluated for injuries before being taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail. She was out on two signature bonds out of Brown County for charges of Possession of Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, OWI (2nd) and Felony Bail Jumping. She was also out on a $250 cash bond out of Fond du Lac County for two counts of Felony Bail Jumping and out on felony probation for Fleeing and Eluding and two counts of Bail Jumping out of Ozaukee County.
