(LEARFIELD) PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Pirates scored more than four runs in a game for the first time in a month, but it wasn’t enough to win.
Brewers slugger Christian Yelich pounded two homers and drove in four runs in an 8-5 victory Thursday night.
The game included a rain delay of an hour and 45 minutes.
Rookie Carlos Rodriguez earned his first major league victory.
Pat Murphy said it was nice to get Aaron Civale back but Rodriguez was the real story.
Murphy said that a lot of good things happened including Yelich’s game.
It was Milwaukee’s fifth win in the last six games.
Freddy Peralta takes the mound Friday night as the four-game series continues in Pittsburgh.
