(LEARFIELD) – Some relief is on the way for the struggling Brewers’ pitching staff.
Left-hander Jose Quintana takes the mound for the first game of a weekend series in Florida tonight, but injuries have thinned out the starting staff.
Aaron Civale is beginning a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville.
Another starter, Brandon Woodruff, is very close to a return to “The Show,” and he brings ace-quality stuff to Milwaukee – something that has been missing when Freddy Peralta isn’t on the mound.
Zak Littell will start for Tampa Bay. He is 2-5 with a 4.61 ERA.
Tampa Bay is 16-21 and 3-7 in its last 10 games. They trail the New York Yankees by 5 games in the American League East.
The Brewers are 19-19, 6-4 in their last 10 games and trail the Chicago Cubs by 3 games in the National League Central.
The pre-game show starts at 5:30 with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
