(LEARFIELD) – Detroit Tigers lefty Tarik Skubal dominated Brewers batters in Monday’s 9-1 decision at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
He threw seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits and no walks with nine strikeouts.
Milwaukee’s top performer in the one-sided loss was reliever Elvin Rodriguez, who came on with his team trailing by eight runs.
Rodriguez protected the rest of the bullpen by throwing five effective innings, giving up just one run on three hits.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about the blowout loss.
He also talked about how starting pitcher Tyler Alexander and Rodriguez pitched.
Murphy said the defense wasn’t good.
Murphy added tha they didn’t make routine plays.
Alexander took the loss.
