(WNFL) – Tyler Alexander pitched 5 2/3 hitless innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Friday.
Alexander who the Brewers picked up in the off-season walked 3 and struck out 6.
Abner Uribe relieved and allowed the first Reds’ hit in the seventh inning.
Bryan Hudson, Joel Payamps and Trevor McGill each allowed a hit in their time on the mound as Cincinnati finished with 5 hits. They scored 2 unearned runs off of Hudson.
The Brewers offense while not dynamic got the job done.
Garrett Mitchell singled home Sal Frelick in the first inning and then in the fifth inning with Mitchell on base, Brice Turang hit a 2-run home run.
The Brewers and Reds play tonight beginning at 6:10 with the pre-game at 5:35 on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
