(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) GREEN BAY, Wis. – Another familiar face is back with the Green Bay women’s basketball program. Head Coach Kayla Karius announced the hiring of Patrick Bowlin as an Assistant Coach on Wednesday morning.
“We are thrilled to welcome Patrick back to Green Bay,” said Karius. “He is a dedicated assistant who shines in recruiting and player development. With his prior knowledge of our program, he will excel in this role, and we look forward to him helping us continue the great tradition of success in our program!”
Bowlin was a Director of Basketball Operations (2021-23) and an assistant coach (2023-24) at Green Bay under previous Head Coach Kevin Borseth. He was most recently with Idaho State, serving as an assistant coach for the Bengals under Head Coach Seton Sobolewski. Idaho State went 14-17 during the 2024-25 season and advanced to the Big Sky Semifinals. Bowlin was part of a staff that coached Big Sky All-Defensive Team member Kacey Spink and All-Conference Second Team member Tasia Jordan.
During his previous stint with the Phoenix, Bowlin helped Green Bay win the 2022-23 Horizon League regular season championship and the 2023-24 HL tournament championship. He was part of a coaching staff that guided multiple Horizon League All-League honorees, including Bailey Butler, Hailey Oskey, Maddy Schreiber, Sydney Levy, and Natalie McNeal.
“I feel incredibly blessed to join Coach Karius and her staff as they continue the great tradition of Green Bay women’s basketball,” added Bowlin. “The success of the student-athletes both on and off the court is unparalleled, and the community, fanbase, and alumnae are second to none. I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of the championship culture of Green Bay women’s basketball again. Go Phoenix!”
Bowlin was also at Green Bay just over a decade ago, serving as an Assistant Coach on the Phoenix volleyball team. Prior to his collegiate experience, he spent four years as a head coach for girl’s basketball at Rogers High School and Totino-Grace High School in Minnesota. Bowlin also worked at St. Thomas as an assistant volleyball coach from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, he was the Head Softball Coach at Cretin-Derham Hall, where he led the team to an MSHSL Section Championship in 2021.
