(LEARFIELD/WNFL) – Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard could return to the team sooner than expected.
ESPN is reporting the NBA All-Star is hoping to get cleared for basketball activities in the next few weeks.
Lillard hasn’t played since he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis.
Doctors said he has a blood clot in his right calf. The problem can be life-threatening.
Lillard has been receiving blood-thinning meds.
Depending on one’s definition of “few”, the Bucks’ season may be over by then.
The Bucks who play in Philadelphia tonight against the 76ers have 7 games left in the regular season.
Milwaukee is 41-34 and will finish the season Sunday, April 13th against the Detroit Pistons.
Assuming the Bucks don’t slump into the play-in tournament, they will open their first-round playoff series on either Saturday, April 19th or Sunday, April 20th.
The Bucks who beat Phoenix on Tuesday face a Philadelphia team that has lost 9 straight games.
The game can be heard beginning at 6 p.m. tonight on 1440 and 101.9 WNFL.
