(WNFL) – The New York Yankees hit a club-record setting 9 home runs in defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 20-9 Saturday in New York.
Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge hit the first 3 pitches of the game from Brewers starting pitcher Nestor Cortes for home runs.
Austin Welles added another home run later in tbe first inning.
Judge would add 2 more home runs later in the game.
Cortes allowed 8 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks in 2 innings of work before Connor Thomas came in and allowed another 8 over the next 2 innings.
Connor Thomas allowed 8 runs on 6 hits and a walk in his 2 innings of work.
The Brewers did get 2 hits from Jackson Chourio who struck out 5 times on opening day.
Milwaukee and New York close out the series this afternoon.
