(NEW YORK, NY) – The New YorkYankees are off to a hot start after blowing out the Brewers 12-3 from the Bronx on Sunday, completing a 3-game sweep in which they scored 36 runs against Milwaukee over the series.
Aaron Judge clobbered his fourth homer of the season while Jazz Chisholm Jr. went deep twice. The Yanks improved to 3-and-0 with the 4 home runs they hit on Sunday.
Aaron Civale got the loss after giving up five runs over three innings for Milwaukee, which is 0-and-3 on the early season.
Tyler Alexander gave up 2 more runs over his 2 1/3 innings of work with Joel Payamps getting battered for 5 runs in the 2/3 of the seventh inning that he worked.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about how his team has pitching issues.
Murphy said the Yankees have great power.
And, yes, Murphy said it’s been a rough start to the season.
The Brewers got their runs in the first inning on a single by Sal Frelick that scored Brice Turang and in the fourth inning on a 2-run home run by Jake Bauers.
The Brewers host the Kansas City Royals in the home opener in Milwaukee Monday afternoon
Milwaukee will use Elvin Rodriguez as their opener in the game.
Kansas City will counter with Josh Bubic who appeared in 27 games for the Royals in 2024, all in relief
