(LEARFIELD) – The Marquette Golden Eagles face the New Mexico Lobos in an NCAA tournament first-round game tonight.
New Mexico is led by Donovan Dent and the Golden Eagles’ Stevie Mitchell talked about how you slow the scoring machine down.
David Joplin said that even though Marquette was a 2-seed the past couple of seasons, being a 7-seed this year in the tournament doesn’t matter.
Mitchell said the success the Golden Eagles have had this season is due in part because head coach Shaka Smart stuck with the senior group instead of going shopping in the tranfer portal.
Smart talked about why he has stayed away from the transfer portal.
The Golden Eagles and Lobos tip off at 6:25 tonight on TBS.
