(LEARFIELD) INDIANAPOLIS – Six-11 sophomore forward Nolan Winter scored an efficient 18 points to lead the Badgers to a 70-63 win over Northwestern Thursday in a second-round Big Ten Tournament game.
Winter connected on 4-of-5 floor shots and 9-of-10 free throws with a pair of 3-pointers added. John Tonje also had 18.
The Badgers’ Kamari McGee said that Nolan Winter came to play.
McGee added that it was great to see Tonje get some.
Wisconsin’s biggest lead was 16 points, 62-46, with just under nine minutes remaining in the Big Ten tournament game.
Badgers coach Greg Gard spoke about the win.
He also commented on the play of Nolan Winter.
And on meeting UCLA in the quarterfinals Friday.
