(247NEWSSOURCE) – The New York Jets continue to shake up their roster and it involves a pair of former Green Bay Packers players.
The Green and White released veteran wide receiver Davante Adams on Tuesday.
Adams was due to count 38.3-million-dollars against the salary cap, which would have been the highest among all wideouts in 2025.
With the move the Jets are clearing 29.9-million-dollars from this year’s cap, and will carry an 8.4-million-dollar dead charge.
The 32-year-old finished with 67 catches, 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games after being acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to ESPN, the Jets have also given permission to wide receiver Allen Lazard to seek a trade before the start of the league year on March 12th.
Former Packers running back released: The Saints are moving on from a veteran offensive playmaker.
New Orleans is releasing running back Jamaal Williams following two seasons with the team. Williams was drafted by the Packers in 2017 in the fourth round.
It is the first major move made by the Saints as they look to clear at least 40-million-dollars in order to become salary cap compliant prior to the start of the new league year on March 12th.
The 29-year-old was set to enter the third season of a three-year deal that he signed with the team in 2023 after spending the previous 2 seasons in Detroit and 4 in Green Bay.
He rushed for 470 yards and two touchdowns in 27 games with New Orleans.
