(LEARFIELD) East Lansing, MI – Although Wisconsin built a lead to nine points in the first half, it eventually dropped a Sunday game at Michigan State 71-62.
John Tonje was held to 11 points and starter Max Klesmet missed the Big Ten game with an injury.
John Blackwell led the way with 19 points.
Badgers coach Greg Gard talked about what went wrong in the final minutes.
He said they were their own worst enemies.
Gard talked more about the loss.
He added that another issue was Michigan State getting 26 points in the paint.
The Badgers came in leading the conference by hitting 38 percent of their 3-pointers, but only connected on five-of-32 in the defeat.
They travel to Minnesota for a Border Rival game Wednesday night.
