(247NEWSSOURCE) MINNEAPOLIS – The short-handed Milwaukee Bucks outlasted the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 103-101 win at the Target Center.
Brook Lopez made a pair of free throws with ten seconds left to put Milwaukee up two, and Anthony Edwards missed a game-winning three at the buzzer.
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers says that Milwaukee didn’t draw up a drive by Brook Lopez on the final possession, but it worked out.
Rivers said that the defense stepped up big time.
Gary Trent Jr. poured in 21 points off the bench to lead the Bucks on a night that they were missing both Dame Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Rivers says that a number of guy contributed to this win.
The Bucks got 19 points fron Kyle Kuzma and 11 each from Lopez, Taurean Prince and Kevin Porter Jr.
Milwaukee has won two of three.
Anthony Edwards had 28 points in the losing effort, while Naz Reid finished with 22. The Wolves have lost two in a row.
The Bucks are now idle until February 20 when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.
