MADISON, WI โ Applications will open February 3 for a new round of Dairy Business Builder grants administered by the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA). Small- to medium-sized dairy farmers, manufacturers, and processors in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin may apply for the funding, which is administered by the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) and Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA).
The reimbursement grants of up to $100,000 each aim to support recipients in diversifying on-farm activity, creating value-added products, enhancing dairy byproducts, and creating or enhancing dairy export programs.
โSince the creation of DBIA, weโve seen many innovative proposals that have advanced farm and processing businesses, brought new products to market, and bolstered the Midwest dairy industry overall. We look forward to reviewing this next round of applications,โ said John Umhoefer, WCMA Executive Director.
โThese funds will help small dairy businesses grow and innovate, which is critical for their success in todayโs ever-changing markets,โ said Dr. John Lucey, CDR Director.
Application materials for the Dairy Business Builder grants are available online now at DBIAโs brand new website: dbia.wisc.edu. The new site features a complete overhaul of the programโs logo and branding, complete details on the Allianceโs grant programs and technical assistance, and compelling stories of business growth and innovation from past grant recipients.
