(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) DAYTON, OHIO – A superb night from the Green Bay women’s basketball team ended with a 75-62 victory over Wright State. Thursday’s victory marks a sweep over the Raiders for the sixth consecutive season and extends Green Bay’s current win streak to nine.
Jasmine Kondrakiewicz dropped a career-high 31 points for the Phoenix (16-5, 9-1 HL), which is also tied for 12th all-time in the program among individual game records. Natalie McNeal tacked on 15 points and a team-high 12 rebounds, good for her ninth career double-double. It was McNeal’s seventh double-double as a Phoenix and second this season.
Claire Henson had 12 points for the Raiders (4-16, 2-8 HL). Makiya Miller added another 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a close game to start, with neither team leading by more than four points for the first 6:41 of the opening quarter. A jumper by Macie Taylor extended WSU’s lead to six at 14-8 with 3:19 to go in the first quarter. Green Bay started 3-of-10 but finished the quarter strong, ending the stanza shooting 3-of-7. McNeal capped a 10-2 run in the final 3:19 of the frame with an and-one, putting GB ahead 18-16 going into the second quarter. The Green and White shot slightly better in the second quarter, getting threes from Cassie Schiltz and Kondrakiewicz to go into halftime with a 36-27 advantage.

The Phoenix started to heat up in the third period, eventually extending the lead to 13 after Kondrakiewicz and McNeal drilled a pair of free throws on consecutive possessions. ‘Jas’ had an emphatic and-one near the end of the third stanza, getting her new career-high in points after converting from the charity stripe. The Phoenix led by 16 going into the final period, holding at least that margin for all but 41 seconds in the fourth quarter in the 75-62 win.
