(LEARFIELD) MADISON – Six-four senior guard Max Klesmit led the Badgers to a 79-67 nonconference win over Montana State Thursday night.
Klesmit scored 26 points while connecting on six-of-11 3-pointers.
Wisconsin was again deadly from the free-throw line.
After hitting 16-of-16 in the season opener, it was good on 20-of-21 against the Cougars.
The Badgers’ John Blackwell who scored 13 points said the Badgers look for a variety of ways to score.
John Tonje and Kamari McGee added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for Wisconsin.
Badgers coach Greg Gard talked about how tough Montana State was.
The visitors kept the score close in a back-and-forth first half that saw 10 lead changes.
The Badgers go for a third straight win when they host Appalachian State.
Gard talked about that opponent.
The Badgers will play them on Sunday at the Kohl Center in Madison at 11 a.m.
