(WNFL) – The runners have been putting in time all summer to stay in shape for the fall cross country season.
The first meet of note is Wednesday with the Freedom Irish Invitational.
More than a dozen teams will be represented at the meet.
Here’s a look back at the 2023 season as well as info on the top returning runners in each division
Boys
Division 1 team champion: Stevens Point 36; runnerup Hudson 75. (Green Bay Preble finished 6th with 189 points).
Division 1 individual champion: Manny Putz, Onlaska 15:05.8. Top area returnees: Grady Lenn, De Pere, 3rd, 15:17.0; Jacob Nuthals, Green Bay Preble, 5th, 15:42.3.
Division 2 team champion: Lakeside Lutheran 112; runnerup: Winneconne 116.
Division 2 individual champion: Noah Kuhn, Edgewood 15:50.5. Top area returnee: Joseph Hunt, Notre Dame, 8th, 16:17.5.
Division 3 team champion: Kohler 109; runnerup: Solon Springs/Northwood 114.
Division 3 individual champion: Charlie Vosters, Iola-Scandinavia 15:49.7. Top area returnee: Bradyn Wendorff, Gillett, 27th, 17:10.6
Girls
Division 1 team champion: Slinger 78; runnerup: Neenah 114; Kaukauna 143.
Division 1 individual champion: Ella Anschutz, Muskego 18:00.3. Top area returnee: Reese Fauske, Kaukauna, 18th, 19:15.5.
Division 2 team champion: Xavier 75; runnerup: Bloomer 116, Notre Dame 126.
Division 2 individual champion: Nora Gremban, Northland Pines 17:46.7. Top area returnee: Ashley Wilson, Little Chute, 16th, 19:29.3
Division 3 team champion: Lancaster 92; runnerup: Phillips 138.
