KIMBERLY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Work is underway to transform a former Shopko store into a Festival Foods.
The 98,030-square-foot building was one of many Shopko locations which were shuttered when the Ashwaubenon-based retail chain went out of business in 2019. The building at 800 E. Maes Ave. was sold at auction in March 2022.
Shortly after, Skogen’s Festival Foods announced it would transform the former department store into the Fox Valley’s fifth Festival Foods.
Although the site sat untouched for a time, work at the site is now underway. The company is planning an opening in fall of 2024, according to a spokesperson for Skogen’s Festival Foods.
The location is next to the bridge over the Fox River connecting Kimberly and Little Chute.
