ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A unique float is soaring to new heights at the downtown Green Bay holiday parade.
Maintenance crews from Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) put the final touches on their air traffic control tower float Friday in preps for Saturday’s parade.
The float is in keeping with the parade’s theme, “Let it Snow.”
The airport says it will make sure Santa gets to where he needs to go this holiday season with the help of its air traffic control tower and of course, a snowplow.
“We’ve been doing this for a number of years, we’re really excited to continue that partnership with downtown Green Bay, it gives us a chance to get out there and talk a little bit about the airport and show the kids some of the work that goes into keeping the airport as safe as possible, more importantly, available for Santa to deliver all those presents on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,” said airport director, Marty Piette.
Walking with the float will also be the airport’s therapy dogs and their owners to help hand out candy.
Green Bay’s Holiday Parade goes along Jefferson, Cherry and Washington Streets in downtown Green Bay from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.
