A week away from the NBA season opener and the Milwaukee Bucks were thrown quite a curveball Thursday when assistant coach Terry Stotts up and quit the team. The former Bucks Head Coach who spent nine seasons with the Portland Trailblazers, making the playoffs eight times, was hired by new Head Coach Adrian Griffin this off-season. It was a nice match with a rookie Head Coach with a veteran who has had success in the league. Things got even brighter when the Bucks made the blockbuster trade to bring Portland guard Damian Lillard on board who spoke very highly of Stotts and was anxious to continue working with him. But something happened to have Stotts walk away. After practice Thursday, Griffin said it was “a personal decision”, but one that “caught everybody off-guard”. Griffin thought he was developing a great working relationship with him and learned a lot from Stotts. Stotts hasn’t spoken publicly about his decision but indicated he wants to continue coaching elsewhere if possible. Meanwhile, the Bucks wrap up the Pre-season Friday night hosting the Memphis Grizzlies at Fiserv Forum. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:30 PM with a 7:00 PM tip on WNFL. The Bucks open the regular season hosting Philadelphia next Thursday night.
