Former division rivals and this year’s American and National League central division leaders got together Tuesday night at American Family Field and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Minnesota Twins 7-3. Willy Adames started the game with a bang, delivering a two run homer in the first against Minnesota starter Bailey Ober. Christian Vasquez did the same in the second, hitting a two run shot off Wade Miley. An RBI single from Kyle Farmer put the Twins up 3-2 as Miley got through five innings, allowing the three runs on five hits with 4 strikeouts. The Brewers got a couple runners aboard in the bottom of the sixth and that chased Ober in favor of Dylan Floro and that’s when the Crew got really busy. Four straight singles led to a five run inning. Mark Canha got the game even, Tyrone Taylor’s pop flare to right to Milwaukee in front, Brice Turang’s RBI knock wasn’t hard hit either but it glanced off the shortstop’s glove and then Brian Anderson rolled one up the middle against a drawn in infield for a two run single. It’s the first time since August 29th of last year the Brewers had four straight hits with runners in scoring position. Bryse Wilson got the win in relief as the Brewers have now reeled off four in a row. They are 69-57 and with the Tigers beating the Cubs 8-6, Milwaukee’s lead in the NL Central is now three and a half games. Corbin Burnes will pitch for the short series sweep against Kenta Maeda in the finale. Pre-game coverage begins at 12:35 PM with a 1:10 PM first pitch on WNFL.
