(WNFL) – With Rowdy Tellez on the injured list and production from the first base position not being what it needs to be, the Milwaukee Brewers have moved to bolster that position.
Milwaukee swung a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, aquiring Carlos Santana for 18-year-old shortstop Jhonny Severino.
Santana is hitting .235 with 12 home runs and 53 RBI this season. He is a career .242 hitter.
Severino has played in a handful of games for the Brewers Arizona League team. Severino was an international signee in 2022.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was the first to report this deal.
