MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Andre Jackson Jr.
The 36th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Jackson Jr. helped UConn win the NCAA Championship as a junior last season. The 6-6, 200-pound guard averaged 6.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 29.2 minutes per game with the Huskies in 2022-23, playing in 32 games (28 starts). A co-captain last season, Jackson Jr. was selected to the 2022-23 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award Top 15 watch list.
A native of Amsterdam, New York, Jackson Jr. appeared in 81 games across three seasons with the Huskies, helping them reach the NCAA Tournament three times while posting a 69-26 (.726) overall record. His draft rights were acquired by the Bucks from the Orlando Magic in exchange for a 2030 second-round draft pick and cash considerations.
Green stays put: The Milwaukee Bucks have re-signed guard AJ Green.
Green appeared in 35 games (1 start) while on a Two-Way contract with the Bucks last season. The 6-5, 190-pound guard averaged 4.4 points and 1.3 rebounds in 9.9 minutes per game while shooting 42.4% from the field and 41.9% from three. Green reached double figures in scoring seven times as a rookie last season and knocked down multiple threes in 14 of his 35 games played.
The Northern Iowa product also played in 15 games (13 starts) with the Wisconsin Herd last season and averaged a team-high 20.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 49.6% overall and 42.9% from three.
Robin Lopez joins his brother: The Milwaukee Bucks have signed center Robin Lopez.
Lopez, who appeared in 66 games with the Bucks during the 2019-20 season, has played in 976 games (605 starts) across 15 NBA seasons with Phoenix, New Orleans, Portland, New York, Chicago, Milwaukee, Washington, Orlando and Cleveland. He holds career NBA averages of 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 21.4 minutes per game and is a career 53.7% shooter from the field.
Last season, Lopez averaged 3.0 points on 64.0% shooting from the field and 1.4 rebounds in 37 appearances (2 starts) with the Cavaliers. In his lone season with the Bucks in 2019-20, the 7-foot center played in 66 games (5 starts) and averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game while shooting 49.2% overall and 33.3% from three.
Originally selected with the 15th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of Stanford, Lopez has also seen action in 38 playoff games in his career, making 28 starts, and holds postseason averages of 8.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 22.4 minutes per game.
