Adrian Griffin was re-introduced to Milwaukee as the new Head Coach of the Bucks Tuesday at a Deer District press conference next to Fiserv Forum. The 41 year old had been the top assistant with the Toronto Raptors for the past four seasons. His coaching career spanned over a decade and he broke into the NBA ranks as an assistant to Scott Skiles with the Bucks 15 years ago and now he returns as the man in charge.
Griffin knows he is inheriting a team that includes one of, if not the best player in the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo. He said he met with Giannis during the interview process and was struck by how hungry he is, along with the rest of the players he met, in bringing another championship to the city. The Bucks under Mike Budenholzer won the NBA title in 2021 and had the best record in the league this past season before getting upset in the opening round of the playoffs by the Miami Heat. Griffin said he wants to feed that hunger with hard work and is looking forward to getting started. Several players including Grayson Allen, Joe Ingles and Marshawn Beauchamp were on hand for the press conference along with General Manager Jon Horst who said with 15 years of assistant coaching in the league, Griffin is more than ready to become a winning, first time Head Coach in the NBA.
