New Green Bay Phoenix Men’s Basketball Coach Sundance Wicks has inherited a team that won just three games a year ago and a roster that was almost completely gutted by former players entering the transfer portal. Wicks is starting the process of filling up those roster spots. 6-2 guard Preston Ruedinger is coming back to Wisconsin to play for the Phoenix. The former Oshkosh Lourdes star spent his first two seasons at Valparaiso. He began as a preferred walk on and dealt with injuries during his sophomore season before entering the transfer portal. Ruedinger said he’s always wanted to play for Green Bay and after meeting Wicks, was sold on the move. He piled up over 2300 points in his prep career and with his father as Head Coach, led the Knights to the WIAA Division 4 state championship in 2021. Also committing to the Phoenix is forward Will Eames, a graduate transfer from Missouri Western. Wicks was Head Coach at Western for two seasons before joining the Wyoming staff where he spent three years before becoming the 9th Head Coach in GB’s history.
