The Green Bay Phoenix men’s and women’s teams were both on the road Sunday. The Lady Phoenix improved to 7-3 with a 63-49 victory at Illinois State. A 13-0 run in the second quarter carried GB to a 37-20 halftime lead and the coasted to the finish. Jasmine Kondrakiewicz led the way with 12 points, Sydney Levy added a dozen and Cassie Schiltz put up 9 while pulling down a game high 11 rebounds. Green Bay returns home to face Chicago State Wednesday night at the Kress Center.
The Phoenix men fell at Oregon State 65-56. The Beavers led nearly the entire way. Clarence Cummings III topped GB with 16 points and seven rebounds. Brock Heffner added 13 and Zae Blake scored 12 points with 6 rebounds and five assists. The Phoenix drop to 2-11 on the season and after a Christmas break, will go back on the road, returning to Horizon League play at Detroit on December 29.
