GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Fire officials say a kitchen fire forced six people out of their home on Green Bay’s east side.
Crews responded at 8:15 p.m. to a building on the 900 block of Smith Street, after a driver called 911. The home has three apartments. The fire started on the first floor.
No one was inside at the time of the fire, but two dogs were removed and given to residents.
Crews put out the flames in less than five minutes. There were no injuries.
The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damages. The cause is under investigation.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department would like to remind residents to have working smoke detectors.
