GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Courtney Kuehn has been selected to serve as the next Green Bay Preble High School principal.
Kuehn has served as an Associate Principal at Preble High School since 2013. Prior to serving as an AP, Kuehn taught English Language Arts at East, Southwest and Preble from 2006 to 2013.
“It really comes to her dedication and commitment to the Preble high school community…She’s remained pretty steadfast in her commitment to the school and the students and the families, so she certainly came out as our top candidate,” Executive Director of Secondary Schools, Judy Weigand told WTAQ News. “They have had their fair share of challenges, and even though she wasn’t in the role as the lead principal during those times, she certainly was behind the scenes taking charge and helping…We certainly saw her ability to remain calm, steadfast, and to be logical and reasonable and keeping the focus on what’s going to be the best for our students and our families. I see it not only in the rhetoric in the actual answers to interview questions, but in her actions.”
“Ms. Kuehn’s unwavering commitment and dedication to the Preble Community were factors that strongly contributed to the decision to select her to serve in this position,” stated Superintendent of Schools and Learning Stephen Murley. “She understands the challenges of leading a large, diverse high school and has demonstrated the ability to lead with integrity and purpose. Ms. Kuehn has actively participated and led initiatives in the areas of literacy, cultural awareness and Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID), to name a few.”
Kuehn is set to start July 1, 2022, pending Board approval on April 11, 2022.
Kuehn also has children in the district and serves as a coach outside of the school day.
