SURING, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A former Suring village official has pleaded guilty to federal child sex abuse charges.
Prosecutors say John Fredenburgh, 37, pled guilty Friday to one count of traveling interstate with the intent to engage in sexual activity with a minor and a count of using a computer to attempt to persuade, induce, or entice a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity. He will be sentenced in March and faces 10-30 years in prison.
Fredenburgh also faces similar charges in state court. He was due back in state court in July and has pleaded not guilty.
Fredenburgh is a former Suring village trustee. He has also worked as a substitute teacher and county human services worker.
