GREEN BAY,WI (WTAQ) – Three children have been reunited with their mother after being taken following a domestic dispute Wednesday morning.
Police say after they notified the public that the children were missing, they received an anonymous tip that they were at a park in De Pere. Police tracked them down and arrested the man they were with, who was the father of two of the kids.
“De Pere PD located the vehicle in one of their city parks,” said Police Captain Ben Allen. “They made contact with us, we made contact with the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.”
Video of the arrest was posted to social media.
The case started just before 7 a.m. when police say they were called to the 2200 block of Manitowoc Road, where a female reported a kidnapping. The suspect, who is the father of two of the kids, left in her vehicle with the kids still inside.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries she suffered during the fight.
Officers also say the children were found just before an Amber Alert could be issued. Paperwork had been filed to trigger an Amber Alert, but police were able to get the word out faster using the Nixle alert system and social media posts.
