MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Five people, including alleged shooter Joshua Walcott, had bail hearings Wednesday in connection arrests made after a murder in Two Rivers.
Friends identified the victim of the shooting as Malachi Moore, 17. Authorities have not released his name, or a motive for the shooting Monday night at a home on 28th Street.
No charges have been filed. All made appearances in Manitowoc court Wednesday for bail hearings.
Walcott, 19, faces an expected charge of first-degree intentional homicide. During questioning, Walcott admitted to the murder, said District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre.
Walcott’s bond was set at $250,000 cash. He returns to court Monday for a formal initial appearance.
Several others arrested during the investigation also appeared in court Wednesday:
- Rodney Anderson, 20, is expected to face a charge of aiding a felon for helping to arrange Walcott’s escape from the murder scene, according to Asst. District Attorney Angelina Scarpelli. Bond was set $1,000 cash, with an initial appearance Monday.
- Kaden Jones, 18, is expected to face bail jumping charges. Bond was set at $250 cash. He returns to court May 27.
- Malik Thomson, 21, is expected to face a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. Bond was set at $250 cash. He returns to court May 24.
- Todd Miller, 40, is expected to face charges of neglecting a child. The homicide happened at his residence. Scarpelli said the home was not kept up, there were drugs and alcohol around, and two children were not being properly cared for. The children have since been removed from the home, she said. Bond was set at $500. He returns to court May 24.
Moore was identified on a fundraising website. According to the GoFundMe page, money raised would be used for Moore’s funeral expenses. The fundraiser says, “He was goofy, fun, passionate about Martial Arts and an animal lover.”
